We will primarily navigate on the black waters, appropriately called the Rio Negro (black river), and its gorgeous lakes where the acidic water prevents mosquitoes from developing. Our excursions consist of kayaking and canoeing on the river, walking in the rainforest, visiting local villages, and learning about the history and culture of the rainforest. We will get to know the local creatures – swimming with pink dolphins, watching sloths in the trees, searching for alligators in the night, early morning fishing for piranhas. These experiences are curated by our bilingual, naturalist guides who accompany us and help us uncover the fascinating wonders of the region.

Dining with Belo Shabono is a truly gastronomic experience made with local ingredients, fruits, and fishes.
